+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Momma Wendy, female, Maine Coon, "Best Mother of the Year Award." Momma came from Genessee County Shelter with 4 of her kittens, 2 weeks old, and 2 orphans, 10 days old. She was a great Momma to all the kittens. Two weeks later 10 more kittens, almost 3 weeks old, joined Momma and her babies. Less than a week later 10 more kittens were added to Momma's babies and she continued to nurse and care for 26 kittens. The kittens were rotated to get equal nursing time and supplemented with canned kitten milk. Even Momma enjoyed the kitten milk. Momma never left her babies til they were almost 5 weeks old and then it was only for 30 minutes or so. She would go right back to her babies after she stretched out a little. What a terrific Momma. Momma was spayed when her babies were 3 months old, 26 of them. She was still letting them nurse up until she was spayed. Two weeks after her spaying she finally turned her babies away from nursing. She still stays close to her babies and eats with them. She definitely loved being a Mother. She loves to be held and purrs as soon as she is touched. Give her time to know you and she will be the best cat you have ever had. Momma has had her shots, spayed, and micro chipped. Adoption Fees *Cats $75 Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.
