This is Dover! He is 10 weeks old as of 4/5/10 and weighs 14 lbs. He will probably be about 60-65 lbs when full grown. He is the brother of Dani and Darla, also on this site. He has had his first 2 puppy shotsand has been dewormed three times. This is his story.Dover's mom is a Shepherd mix (her picture is posted here). She was living in Indiana and running free. She got pregnant and had the puppies and when they were 3 weeks old, the mom and her pups were dumped at the county shelter one cold evening because the owner did not have the money to pay the surrender fee to the shelter. They went into rescue and were sent to a foster home in western Michigan. The pups were then transported to Silver Lake when they turned 8 weeks. Dover is unique as he has a white stripe running down his nose and he has a longer nose - like his mother. He is an energetic puppy and very affectionate. All of the pups are just learning about living in a house and going potty on newspapers and playing outside. They love to play with toys and enjoy running in the yard chasing each other!! Dover likes the adult dogs in his foster home and even likes the two kitties who live there. He is good with people and kids!! No toddlers, please. ********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm. Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: mmarpaws@gmail.com to see if that pet will be there.
Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only.
Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.
MMAR is an all volunteer, foster based, 501 (c) 3, non profit organization. Without your donation, wonderful pets like these have to be passed by because we cannot afford their care.
